All across Britain and in select places in Ireland on March 5 at 11am, wild spontaneous dancing will take place in B&Q stores everywhere, including the B&Q shop in the Arcadia Retail Centre, One Mile Round Road, Athlone!
The dance is taking place to break a record for a large scale simultaneous flash mob dance. This flash mob dance will be held in places as far apart as Cardiff and Colchester, in the UK.
In the 330 B&Q shops nine of which are in Ireland, staff, community groups, and customers of the stores will all take part in a dance similar to the macarena to the tune of the Black Eyed Peas song “I got a feeling”.
B&Q plan to show that it is “easy to learn a new skill whether it’s a dance routine, DIY, or gardening skills”.
In store there will be seasonal spring deals on everything from kitchens, outdoor furniture, DIY products to garden tools and necessities.
The current world record is held by the 2010 Norway Eurovision winnerwhen people all across the European Union joined in a dance to Madcon's “Glow”.
Will B&Q beat this huge record?
It will be an unforgettable event whether they succeed or not with so many stores involved, as staff, customers, people of all walks of life will stop what they’re doing at 11am this Saturday and the music will begin what is set to be pure entertainment.
