The Midlands Gateway Chamber to host their first breakfast briefing of the year

Jim Barry, managing director, The Barry Group, will be speaking on the success of the Barry Group to date and future plans for growth between 2011 and 2013.

The breakfast meeting will take place on Tuesday March 8 at 7.30am in the Tullamore Court Hotel.

The Barry Group wa originally founded by James A Barry in 1955, Barry Group has been in business for over 50 years. It is one of Ireland’s leading wholesale distribution groups and trades prominently on a national basis, supplying product to over 700 stores including 240 affiliated stores in the Republic of Ireland, operating under the Costcutter, Carry Out, BuyLo, and Quik Pick brands. Under the leadership and vision of managing director Jim Barry, the Barry Group trades internationally in more than 15 countries. Barry Group employs 240 people at its company headquarters in Upper Quartertown, Mallow, Co Cork.

The Midlands Gateway Chamber represents Athlone, Tullamore, and Mullingar as a single entity, and was formed in 2007 by forward-thinking members of the town chambers who recognised the need for one regional voice representing the Midlands.

“Our vision is to create a business community that is engaged in building a better future for the Midlands region,” said Paul O’Reilly president of the Midlands Gateway Chamber.“To that end our aim is identify and support projects and issues, communicate information and create opportunities to promote business growth for the entire region that represents Athlone, Mullingar, and Tullamore.”
