The Palace Bar, Castle Street, Athlone has become equally synonymous with a great night out as with delicious homecooked food. It offers a high standard of comfort, elegance, style, and service. Food is served in the bar from noon to 8pm Monday to Sunday. The Palace Loft, situated on the top floor of the Palace Bar is the perfect location for any gathering. Whether you are celebrating your birthday, having a staff night out, or just gathering friends together for a great night, the Palace Loft offers you spacious room with state of-the-art lighting, high efficiency air conditioning, and an impressive bar.

The venue can offer to supply all your catering and bar services, and even suggest a DJ for you.

Recently the Vintners’ Federation of Ireland (VFI ), in conjunction with Smithwick’s gave the Irish public the chance to showcase their talent in the Stars of our Bars pub talent competition. Entrants stand the chance to win big if they qualify for the finals, with a total prize fund of €50,000 at stake.

The Palace Bar is currently looking for new talent to enter the competition and is hoping to put contestants through to Westmeath final which takes place in May. Last year Shanna Cunnigham and Tad and Kint were winners of the Palace leg of Stars of our Bars and went through to the Westmeath final. The competetion ran over six weeks and 14 acts in all took part from solo singers to dancers as well as family acts and bands.
