Midlands Simon Community are asking people to show their solidarity with those experiencing homelessness by joining Team Midlands Simon for a sporting event or challenge. Whether it’s a triathlon or an egg and spoon race, Team Midlands Simon needs you to take the challenge this year and help end homelessness through sport.
Midlands Simon is appealing to everyone, regardless of fitness level, whether your aim is to complete the Flora Mini Marathon, Dublin Marathon, or any other sporting event. No matter what challenge you choose to take on, knowing you have also helped the drive to end homelessness is a trophy you can carry with you forever.
The aim of the Midlands Simon Community is to enable people to move out of homelessness by providing a wide range of services and supports, such as vital emergency accommodation; settlement services; addressing any difficulties people face with health, addiction, or poverty; providing a voice; a network of volunteers who provide many supports, such as help with returning to education or employments; or someone to simply listen.
Midlands Simon Community are providing these essential ongoing supports and care to those affected by homelessness across the Midlands region. Since 2005 Midlands Simon has now supported over 900 people, including over 170 children.
