A 21-year-old man has been arrested in relation to a shooting incident in Athlone last November.
The arrest of the local man yesterday [Thursday] brings to seven the total number of people who have been arrested in connection with the incident on the morning of November 8 2010, during which shots were fired at two houses in the Beechville area of Athlone.
At time of going to print he was being detained for questioning at Athlone Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984, under which he can be held for up to 24 hours.
Three local men were arrested in mid-December, while three women, also local, were arrested in late November and questioned in relation to the incident.
