Peugeot started the year with two special edition announcements. The Peugeot 207 Envy 1.4, 95 bhp petrol 5dr slots in to Band B road tax. Standard equipment includes bluetooth, 6 airbags, alloy wheels, front fogs, aircon, leather steering wheel, and remote audio controls.
Peugeot’s other special is the 308 Envy 1.6 HDi diesel. It qualifies for Band A road tax. Standard equipment includes sports bumpers, bluetooth, six airbags, alloy wheels, front fogs, aircon, automatic wipers and lights, and cruise control with speed limiter.
New Peugeot 508 Saloon and Estate on the way
The next big arrival for Peugeot is their really stylish new 508 saloon and SW (estate ), which will arrive in April. The Peugeot 508 family saloon and SW combines strong design and good looks. It is the first production Peugeot to feature the brand’s new family face with the so-called floating grille design. The interior is spacious and comfortable with high quality environment.
With the 508 Peugeot has used lightweight materials, excellent aerodynamics, and Peugeot’s award-winning, low CO2 engines, to boost efficiency. The 508 range will also include the revolutionary new Peugeot e-HDi system, a new-generation Stop and Start system with improved driveability and economy.
About six months after launch, HYbrid4 technology will be introduced, with its 200bhp and all-wheel drive potential, emitting just 99 g/km of CO2 (or zero in electric mode ).
The 508 is roughly 10cm longer than the 407, which Peugeot says will give extra rear legroom and a bit more boot space. Despite the step-up in size, the 508 is between 35kg and 45kg lighter, which helps cut its CO2 output by an average of 40g/km.
It will be built first this year in France for the European market and then additionally in China.
