Kevin Stone (sixth class ) from St Oliver PIunkett BNS, Robyn Seery (second year ) from Mercy School Kilbeggan, and Caoimhe Walsh (sixth year ) from Our Lady's Bower reached the top 60 with their creation of a doodle around the Google logo based on the theme of “To me, happiness is…”.

The public vote is now open and will close on January 31. John Herlihy, head of Google Ireland said, “We have had a phenomenal response to this year’s competition with the highest number of entrants ever. It was so difficult to select just 60 finalists. Every one of the finalists should be proud of their tremendous achievement.

“This is the most exciting stage of the competition as the public can go online, see all the doodles and vote for their favourite one. We are now calling on the public in Westmeath to visit the Doodle 4 Google website and show their support for their local students and schools,” he added.

The national winner will have the once in a lifetime chance of seeing their doodle on the Google Ireland homepage for a whole day in March.
