The Saw Doctors and Smyths Toys are joining forces this week in a novel scheme to raise funds for the Society of the St Vincent de Paul this Christmas.
Smyths Toys will donate €1 to St Vincent de Paul for every download of the new acapella version of “Red Cortina” by The Saw Doctors, which goes on sale from iTunes Ireland on Friday December 3.
The Saw Doctors and Smyths Toys hope to raise €10,000 for SVP by encouraging a minimum of ten thousand people in Ireland to download the new acapella version of “Red Cortina” from iTunes Ireland between December 3 and 10.
The novel fundraising scheme has been christened Just One Click by Saw Doctors’ manager, Ollie Jennings. “Downloading Red Cortina from iTunes is a very simple and quick way to raise much needed funds for the St. Vincent de Paul this weekend,” says Ollie.
“Red Cortina” Acapella will cost 99 cent to download from iTunes Ireland from today, Friday December 3, and as well as the music track, iTunes will allow you to download a free Saw Doctors comic which has been specially designed by Tuam artist Squigley McHugh.
