The Fatted Calf, located in Glasson has been awarded the Just Ask Restaurant of the Month for November adding to their recent award of Georgina Campbell’s Newcomer of the Year.
Having recently taken over this pub in Glasson, Feargal O’Donnell and his wife Fiona have transformed it into a haven of exquisite food in a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere. All ingredients used in their dishes are sourced from local producers and the O’Donnells pass this on to their customers through their menus.
Speaking about The Fatted Calf, Georgina Campbell said; “Feargal O’Donnell’s menus are a great read – and the cooking lives up to the promise, with tasty fare including delicious Lissadell mussels, a proper roast of the day, flavoursome burgers enriched with bone marrow, and confit of suckling pork belly with Jane Russell’s handmade sausages and creamy dauphinoise among the many treats.”
Winner of the Just Ask Restaurant of the Month for November and head chef at the Fatted Calf, Feargal O’Donnell, said; “We are absolutely delighted to have won this award, we put a lot of energy into sourcing and highlighting local suppliers and identifying where our food comes from. It’s great to get recognition for all of the hard work which our suppliers and indeed all of our staff at the Fatted Calf have put in.”
Just Ask is a Bord Bia campaign, in association with Georgina Campbell, which aims to encourage consumers to look for information on where their food is coming from when eating out, and encourages chefs to provide this information on their menus.
