Bunbrosna v Nobber (Meath ), Bunbrosna, Sunday 2.30pm
Having safely cleared their first hurdle against St Rynagh’s (Offaly ) last Sunday, Bunbrosna will be hoping to continue their winning ways when they welcome Meath champions Nobber to their home ground this Sunday.
Last Sunday the Westmeath men enjoyed a comfortable 1-13 win over Offaly champions St Rynagh’s. Missing a couple of regulars and having to travel into the lion’s den made this victory all the more noteworthy.
This time around they will be in the familiar surrounds of their home pitch, although after this week’s downpour any pitch will be doing well to be playable on Sunday. Their opponents Nobber featured in this year’s Celebrity Bainisteior, where Ballymun knocked them out.
I fancy Bunbrosna to follow in Tubberclair’s footsteps and reach the provincial decider, but with that said, Sunday’s encounter will be tricky. Without knowing too much about Nobber they are the Meath champions, so like all Meath teams they will be a tough nut to crack.
Yet if the likes of Aidan Finnan, the Newmans, Padraic Walsh, Andrew Whitney, and Peter Tormey hit form Bunbrosna should progress to the Leinster semi-final.
