Mayor of Athlone, Sheila Buckley Byrne officially opened the new JobFit Centre in Athlone yesterday, Thursday. JobFit is an innovative new initiative to help unemployed people back into work or further education.
Aimed at people who may have left the education system early or been let go from their jobs, JobFit is delivered by TBG Learning in partnership with National Learning Network – both Rehab Group companies.
The free programme, which can last up to 13 weeks, offers training that leads to nationally-recognised qualifications, work placements with local employers and tailored support and guidance.
JobFit is open to people who have been in receipt of a social welfare payment for three months or more and who are qualified to Junior Certificate level or below.
