Hodson Bay Hotel goes ‘Pink’ for October

Hodson Bay Hotel and Leisure Centre are very excited about the Pink Campaign which has been launched for the month of October in order to raise money for Action Breast Cancer.

The fundraising events started on Friday October 8 with Pink Ribbon Day where all staff wore the official Action Breast Cancer pink ribbons and brightened up their uniforms with pink ties and hair ribbons. All guests were encouraged to get involved and to embrace their pink side on national Action Breast Cancer Day.

On Tuesday October 19 at 12 noon, there will be a ‘Pink’ coffee morning where everyone is invited to come along and enjoy a cup of coffee and some pink treats. There will be a flower arranging demonstration by Clare Lawless, resident florist, and a short talk on Action Breast Cancer by Ian O’Reilly, community fundraiser with the Irish Cancer Society.

The main event is on Saturday October 30 from noon to 4pm, where Hodson Bay Hotel and Leisure Centre have set a challenge to run, swim, and cycle 400 kms in 4 hours. The challenge will be undertaken by hotel staff, leisure centre members, and anyone from the general public who wishes to join in and help raise money for this worthy cause.

Other activities on the day will include face painting and pink nail painting. Enjoy some pink smoothies and cupcakes and there will be a very competitive raft race between some local sporting celebrities…watch out for further details on this. This day promises to be a fun day for all the family so why not come along and either get involved in this exciting challenge or lend your support from the sidelines and cheer on the participants.

General manager of Hodson Bay Hotel, Tim Hayes, says: “All the staff are delighted to be participating in the events throughout the month of October. Unfortunately, these days everyone knows someone who has been affected by breast cancer so the entire team are on board to do what they can to raise money for this extremely worthy cause.”

Official Action Breast Cancer merchandise is also on sale in the hotel during October and all donations will be gratefully accepted.

Hodson Bay Hotel would like to extend this opportunity to invite everyone to the events which have been planned on the October 19 and 30 and to make a contribution towards their fundraising campaign.

If you would like to receive any more information on the events that are being planned by Hodson Bay Hotel please contact Laura Prior, sales and marketing executive on (090 ) 6442000.
