The new Audi A1 with an entry level price-tag of €18,995 ex-works was unveiled for the first time in Ireland last week.
The ultra stylish A1 comes with a choice of SE, Sport, and S line specifications. The lightweight car comes in a range of three, four-cylinder engines with one TDI diesel and two TFSI petrol units. Audi claim that the sporty A1 delivers consistent high-performance and incredible power, together with the benefit of minimal fuel consumption.
Sport and S Line versions include larger diameter alloy wheels, sports suspension, sports seats, leather covered steering wheel and a driver’s information system (DIS ), while the S line versions upgrade with extras such as an exclusive exterior treatment including 17-inch alloy wheels, an S line sports suspension, xenon lights, and leather and cloth combination upholstery.
Audi say that customisation is at the forefront of the A1 offer, and it is providing a choice of equipment packages, as well as numerous customisation options for both exterior and interior. It does this by using an array of colours, materials, and equipment options that are designed to make each car feel as unique and personal as possible. The contrasting roof line is the most distinct and unique customisation method offered, being painted in one of four colours that provide a vibrant contrast to the body colour, upon request.
The Audi A1 also features the latest generation ESP system with electronic differential, which enables more power to be applied to the road.
Meanwhile, the winner of the Audi A1 Chase was presented with a brand new Audi A1 in the Audi Centre after successfully competing against four other finalists in a series of timed challenges throughout Dublin city.
Twenty-one-year-old Gavin Wilson from Thurles, Tipperary, emerged victorious from a pool of 6,200 hopefuls who signed up to the chase and solved a series of complex tasks over a two-and-a-half week period. The prize on offer was the chance to win the Audi A1.
