Robin & Rosie children’s shoe shop is approaching its first year in business next month, and wishes to thank all its customers for their support over the past year. The store is the only one in Athlone dedicated to providing the ultimate in children’s footwear brands from sizes 0-40.
Robin & Rosie is located on Sean Costello Street and offers a wide range of brands such as Start-rite, Ecco, Pablosky, Ricosta, Lelli-Kelly, and many more. New this winter is the Gumboot, which at the starting price of €19 offers great value.
A good quality and well-fitted shoe is vital for foot formation in the early years, and indeed the foot is not fully developed until the late teens. Children’s shoes should not be bought off the shelf, and part of the service at Robin & Rosie is a personalised fitting service. From first shoe to age 2-3 years, a check is required every 6-8 weeks.
It doesn’t bear thinking about what damage shoes which don’t fit can actually do. Ninety-eight per cent of children are born with perfectly healthy feet, although 60 per cent of adults suffer from feet-related problems. This is very often a consequence of having worn shoes during their childhood that didn’t fit properly.
