Mt Temple farm brings home national award

Locall farmer Padraig Claffey and his family were awarded first prize in Leinster at the recent FBD National Farmyard awards. The prestigious award ceremony took place last week at the Farmers Journal tent at the National Ploughing Championships in Athy.

Mount Temple Dairies was showcased at a national level as being an exemplary farm of the future with an impressive level of activity taking place all year round. With in excess of 230 entries competing for this coveted prize, recognition was awarded for those who kept tidy, well-maintained, and safe farmyards. It truly advocated farming as a respected profession and business for the future.

Over three generations, Mount Temple Dairies has been developed significantly and since taking over from his father Eamonn in 2007, Padraig has been firmly committed to making dairy farming a success for himself, his wife Helena, children Ben (5 ) and Charlie (1 ).
