If yesterday is being referred to as Black Thursday due to the bank bailout then surely last Sunday was Black Sunday for all involved in Padraig Pearse’s football as they got relegated from the senior ranks. In the replay of the relegation decider it was Kilbride who did enough to maintain their senior status.
Pearse’s have contested two county finals in recent years so this result seemed most unlikely. There is no doubt that a series of injuries did not help their cause this year. Yet it’s back to the drawing board for all concerned as they must now make winning next year’s intermediate title the number one priority.
