St. Brigid’s and Elphin to contest decider

St Brigid’s booked their place in this year’s county final with a comfortable seven point win over St Faithleach’s. Conor McHugh bagged the all-important goal deep in the second half. Frankie Dolan weighed in with seven points in total and younger brother Darren had a fine game throughout.

Their opposition in the decider will be Elphin who dumped out reigning champions Castlerea by the narrowest of margins on a scoreline of 1-7 to 0-9. They will be attempting to bridge a 53-year gap since they last won the Fahey Cup.

St Brigid’s intermediate footballers are also through to their county final so it is going to be a busy few weeks in Kiltoom. The possibility of a senior/intermediate double is sure to provide extra motivation for the green and reds.
