MACE stores in Westmeath unite with GOAL for Pakistan

The MACE network of community retail stores across Ireland, including two in Westmeath, have teamed up with Irish aid agency GOAL to help raise essential funds for the people of Pakistan in the aftermath of last month’s flooding disaster.

The participating MACE shops in Westmeath are located at Dublin Road, Athlone, and Ballinalack in north Westmeath.

The fundraising initiative was kick-started by MACE Blanchardstown owner Dr Fazal Memon, who is originally from the affected region. As a result, GOAL collection points have been set up in 243 local MACE stores across the country in order to facilitate fundraising for the relief effort.

According to GOAL’s head of fundraising and marketing, Lisa O’Shea, the MACE fundraising drive will go a long way towards supporting the agency’s aid efforts in Pakistan. “We are extremely grateful to MACE for agreeing to put GOAL collection points in their network of stores and we hope that some of the thousands of customers who visit MACE outlets each day will help support our work with the victims of the devastating floods.

“GOAL is working in Sindh province in the south of Pakistan where we are helping to deliver critical aid to some of the most affected people in the region.”
