Local TD Denis Naughten has welcomed the commencement of a €0.5 million resurfacing programme on the Shannonbridge/Ballinasloe and the Dysart/Ballinasloe roads by Roscommon County Council.
Both of these roads, which access the town of Ballinasloe were badly in need of improvement as they were damaged by the motorway construction works and by the poor weather last winter.
The investment will see over €500,000 spent on the two roads with an asphalt (blacktop ) final surface being placed on the sections of road to be upgraded.
“I would like to compliment the officials of Roscommon County Council and all the local councillors, including Ollie Moore and John Naughten, for their work in securing the required funding for these important regional roads,” said Deputy Naughten.
