Tubberclare are only 60 minutes away from a semi-final meeting with Mullingar Shamrocks.
Last year’s intermediate champions take on The Downs in Cusack Park at 6.30pm on Sunday evening.
Tom Lennon’s men were impressive 2-12 to 2-10 winners over Maryland in their final group game to secure third place in their group. The Downs will pose a massive threat however after kicking an eye-catching 23 points against St Malachy’s.
Fergal Wilson is expected to be available if needed which will be a major plus for Tubberclare. The men from Glasson will be looking for a big performance again from Ian Coffey up front.
Tommy Cleary, Luke Folan, and Sean Loughlin are injury concern for The Downs. Their absence would swing the tie in Tubberclare’s favour but if all three are available I expect The Downs to scrape through.
