A woman involved in the alleged pickpocketing of a man had her case put back for a month in the District Court this week (June 16 ) to allow her solicitor retrieve and view the appropriate CCTV footage.
The court heard how Loredana Sava (19 ) of 121 Meadowbrook, Willow Park, Athlone was charged in relation to an incident at 10.30am at St Mary’s Square on April 14 in which a 49-year-old man allegedly had money taken from his back pocket.
“Four Romanian ladies approached him and offered him favours,” said Inspector Nicholas Farrell.
“He was pushed to the wall and one of the ladies allegedly took the money from his rear pocket.”
Defending solicitor Padraig Quinn asked Judge David Anderson if he could adjourn the case back to July 14 because he was of the opinion the location of the incident was covered by the town’s CCTV system and he wished to view this before proceeding. The judge granted this application.
