Athlone agri-show- an exhibition of farming pride

Chairman of Athlone Agri-Show, Michael Flanagan, has announced this year’s show will be a great family day’s entertainment. The show will take place on Sunday June 27 from 10am at the showgrounds, Gaffeys Farm, Moydrum, Athlone.

Speaking at a recent information evening on the show Mr Flanagan expressed his thanks to the various co-ordinators and committees for the tremendous work they had put in over the last nine months in arranging such a big and varied schedule of events and thanked them for their time and expertise.

Co-ordinator Andy Donoghue has lined up a good variety of side shows including Coosan & District Anglers Association where the junior members of the club will give a demonstration on fly tying and then you can tempt various types of fish with the fly in a special fish tank.

A big screen will be provided at the showgrounds, so sports fans can follow all the action, with full bar facilities in a continental style beer garden.

Showgrounds will open for exhibitors at 8am and the general public at 10am.

Agri-Show treasurer Jack Moran has kept admission prices similar to last year at €10 per adult (children free ) and with eight hours of non-stop entertainment, from 10am to 6pm, and free car parking adjacent to the showgrounds, Jack says “It’s the cheapest family day’s entertainment in the Midlands” .
