Peugeot is sponsoring a new and inspiring online programme, GreenQuest.ie that aims to raise awareness about environmental issues in a fun and exciting way.
An online quiz has been designed highlighting real opportunities and tips to save energy and money in relation to transport, the home, and workplace. The quiz is open to everyone over the age of 13 in Ireland and offers participants free, valuable prizes each month for the duration of the five month campaign. The top prize at the end of the competition is an energy efficient Peugeot 308 HDi SE+ five-door hatchback, world record holder for best consumption, worth over €22,000.
To participate in the quiz entrants register their details on www.greenquest.ie and simply select ‘Play the Quiz’. The current month’s quiz will have a green indicator. There are 10 multiple-choice questions each month and each question has a link to supporting information on the topic of the question. A rosette will appear if an entrant has been selected as a monthly winner and an email is sent.
The free monthly prizes all have a green theme: a Rapid 400 electric bike, a two-night break for two people from Carlton Hotels, solar panels, energy efficient products for the home, energy efficient laptops, a weekend for two at Ashford Castle, Peugeot bicycles, a family weekend at the Bush Hotel in Carrick-on-Shannon, and family passes to Lough Key Forest Park. The final grand prize is a Peugeot 308 HDi hatchback, world record holder for fuel consumption.
GreenQuest is the brainchild of Martin Heneghan and Tom Canavan, from Castlebar, Co Mayo. At the launch of GreenQuest.ie, Martin Heneghan said, “Our hope is that by directing participants of the online quiz to all matters green, they will be inspired to live more sustainably by modifying their lifestyles, even in a small way. If each of us do a little bit, the overall effect will be significant. By raising the awareness of the public through www.greenquest.ie we also hope to contribute in a small way towards sustainable economic growth for the country. Indeed, Ireland is well positioned to develop the economy along green lines. We have many natural advantages over other countries including our renewable energy potential and our skilled, adaptable workforce.”
Peugeot has joined forces with the Environmental Protection Agency, ElectricWheels.ie, and others to sponsor the new sustainable living website.
