Shiny new System of a Down tribute act Chop Suey return to Mullingar on Saturday June 12 at The Stables, with local heroes P45 as support.
The band features Flash, Richie, and Joe from Metallitia and are fronted by manic lead vocalist Joserj Sheehankian.
The energy of this band on stage has to be seen to be believed. Chop Suey's repertoire features material from each of System of a Down's five albums thus giving a great mix to the set and coupled with battle-hardened musicians you can expect a sensational performance of coruscating energy.
These guys always start as they mean to go on; ie, on full throttle. The melodies and harmonies from both vocalists alternate continuously with the awesome drumming and bass.
Chop Suey have been drawing eclectic crowds and the limited amount of shows played so far have surpassed all expectations.
Flash, Richie, and Joe are going back to basics after winning the recent Karl Spain Wants to Rock TV show on RTE2. As a consequence, Metallitia went on to headline the Saturday night slot at Europe's top tribute festival, Glastonbudget in Leicestershire in England before 15,000 people. Further evidence of the band's performance is the fact that they were voted the best performance of the 2009 festival on the Glastonbudget website.
