Athlone Towncentre to host Catwalk Modelling Agency search for the next big thing

Open casting sessions for Catwalk Modelling Agency’s next big thing will be held on Saturday June 12 from 2pm-5pm in Athlone Towncentre. The panel of judges will include Mandy Maher, MD of Catwalk Modelling Agency; former Miss Ireland model Linda Duffy; local fashion photographer Warren Mulvey; plus Facebook fans of Athlone Towncentre.

The competition is open to both males and females, over 16, and no upper age limit applies. At the open casting session contestants will have the opportunity to strut their stuff on the catwalk in front of the judges; there will then be a brief interview with the judges before a series of fashion headshots with photographer Warren Mulvey.

A panel of finalists will be chosen from the open casting session to go forward to compete in the grand finale which is part of the Athlone Towncentre fashion extravaganza on June 26 with live fashion showcases from noon featuring all the latest summer trends from leading brands in Athlone Towncentre. The selected finalists will hit the runway for a fashion showcase in the centre at 2pm and 4pm.

At last year’s Midlands Next Top Model event, Tullamore woman Mairin Feighery was selected as the overall winner from over 150 entries. This year, there has been a public dimension added to the judging system. After the casting session, when the panel of finalists have been selected, customers can vote for their favourite finalist by logging onto the Athlone Towncentre Facebook page and selecting their model of choice.

The overall winner will receive a €1,000 shopping spree in Athlone Towncentre, a 12-month contract with Catwalk Modelling Agency, plus the chance to be featured in a fashion photoshoot as part of an Athlone Towncentre campaign. There will also be great runner-up prizes on offer.
