Gardai are warning members of the public not to leave valuable items on display in their parked cars, after a number of break-ins were reported at the weekend.
On Saturday last, three cars were broken into in the Athlone town centre area. Assorted items, including handbags, mobile phones, and items of jewellery were taken from the vehicles.
Gardai subsequently arrested a local female in her 20s in connection with the incidents. She was charged and is due to appear in court in June.
