The Lols take the number two spot in download charts

The Lols have taken the downloadmusic.ie charts by storm. Since the release of their single, “Grease Is The Word”, on April 30 they have quickly climbed up the charts to take hold of the number two spot.

“We’re absolutely thrilled with reaching number two. We’re still in shock,” says lead guitarist Steve Devaney. “As the week progressed we could see that a huge amount of people had downloaded the single but you’re never sure where you’ll end up,” he explains.

Bursting onto the music scene two years ago Moate natives, The Lols, quickly made a name for themselves in the Irish music industry scene. Playing a mix of chart, rock, and reliable crowd pleasers, the band has the talent of filling the dance floor.

It was their high-energy live shows that were the basis for them winning the prestigious Corporate Band Of The Year award at the 2009 Irish Entertainment Awards. That year also saw them travel overseas to play gigs in Scotland and since then they have become a regular fixture on the Scottish gig circuit

With the success of “Grease Is The Word” this year is set to get even busier for The Lols. Their diary for the year ahead is justifiably jam packed with weddings, corporate events, private parties, and gigs throughout the country. If you want to book The Lols you would better do it now!
