A man has been released from hospital following a stabbing incident in Moate last Sunday night.
The local man was stabbed with what is believed to have been a screwdriver during an altercation on Moate’s main street involving several locals.
Gardai were called to what they described as a “feud or altercation” on Main Street, Moate at approximately 9pm on Sunday.
In the course of the incident, one male from the locality was stabbed with what Gardai believe was a screwdriver, though this has not been confirmed.
The man was brought to the Midland Regional Hospital, Tullamore with minor injuries, but was later released.
