Next Friday, April 16, Athlone Lions Club is holding a bowling night in Athlone Leisure World. All proceeds from the night will go to Midlands Simon Community and their efforts to end homelessness right across the Midlands.
As well as being guaranteed a fantastic fun night out, everyone who takes part will also have an opportunity to win some prizes and to show their support for those experiencing homelessness in our community.
The night starts at 8pm and is open to anyone to take part, whether you are a regular bowler or have never played! A team of four people will cost just €40.
The night is being organised by Athlone Lions Club, a community-based group of people who help out with local charity issues, and has been providing much needed support to many different groups over a long period of time.
Midlands Simon Community helps people to move out of homelessness by providing emergency accommodation, supporting people to source suitable accommodation, assisting people to move into their new home, and providing a range of supports to help people maintain their new home, and to date has now supported over 800 people in the Midlands.
Midlands Simon also helps people to overcome the many other issues faced by those who are homeless such as health and welfare needs, poverty, loneliness, and isolation.

It is a fantastic club that has done, and continues to do, great work supporting many people in the community that need help. We would greatly encourage people to come along or enter a team. It will be a great night, and an opportunity to forget all the bad news that seems to surround us for one night”.
