Horse tips raise €1,000 for South Westmeath Hospice

Editor of Star Sunday Des Gibson, sports journalist Cathal Dervan, and Paddy Power from Paddy Power Bookmakers used their horsey know-how to raise €1,000 for the South Westmeath Hospice recently.

They raised a total of €5,450 for charity during the Cheltenham Festival. Des and Cathal tipped €4,500 worth of winnings on five radio stations, including i105-107fm in the North East and Midlands, and Paddy Power who provided the bets, rounded the winnings up to €1,000 for each of the stations.

The other charities benefiting from this year’s Cheltenham Star Paddy Power Charity Bets are the Irish Cancer Society; Waterford Autism Social and Sports Action; ISPCC; Neo Natal Unit, Cork University Hospital, and Children’s Leukaemia Ward, Mercy Hospital Cork.
