Real men can wear pink! Roscommon and Athlone Lions Clubs have joined forces with Garda Sgt Pat Thornton, Garda Sgt John Connolly, and Athlone Towncentre to help raise funds for suicide awareness and prevention in the Midlands and West.
From October 5-8, the dynamic duo will undertake a road trip with a difference - in a pink Citroen Dolly. Kindly donated by Keenan Bauer Motors in Mullingar, this Citroen 2CV is ready to travel the Midlands and West with all proceeds going towards the ASIST programme.
RTE News Correspondent Ciaran Mullooly will also be joining the team on the entire journey in his very own pink mini to keep an eye on proceedings!
Please come out and support the pink cavalcade as it leaves Athlone Towncentre this Sunday October 5 at 3pm, heading for Ballinasloe and taking in Roscommon before touring Mullingar on wednesday October 8 from 11.30, finishing in Moate that evening at 5pm.
All monies raised in each area stay in that area to provide suicide awareness training.
