Local businesses join Burgess to raise money for hospice

Burgess of Athlone hosts Athlone’s biggest fashion event of the year in the Sheraton Hotel on Tuesday October 7, where the looks of the season for ladies and men, as well as lacy and racy lingerie and kidswear, will be on the catwalk.

The Fashion Showcase aims to raise much needed funds for the South Westmeath Hospice. Joining forces with Burgess to raise as much money as possible are local businesses including Elliott Opticians, Sheffield Jewellers, Robin & Rosie children’s footwear, The Shoe Gallery, McGorisk’s Pharmacy, and Koztello Hair Studio.

Elliott Opticians showcase designer eyewear collections from brands including Gucci and Marc Jacobs. Sheffield Jewellers will display the ‘hot diamonds’ and ‘Ti Sento’ and Newbridge Silverware Jewellery collections. A selection from Robin & Rosie’s autumn/winter kids’ shoe range and The Shoe Gallery‘s winter boot styles will also be on the catwalk.

Hair and make-up will be in the capable hands of Koztello Hair Studio and Philip McGorisk Health and Beauty, in conjunction with Clinique.

The evening of fashion begins with a champagne reception from 7.30pm followed by a choreographed show from 8pm. Celebrity and model Andrea Roche will judge the Best Dressed Lady competition, where the lucky winner will walk away with lots of loot, including a €500 shopping voucher and everyone gets a goodie bag brimming with treats.

Tickets are €40 each and are available from Burgess Department Store and Elliott Opticians. Ticket bookings also taken on (090 ) 6472005 or (087 ) 2174112. Booked tickets can be collected at the ticket desk in the foyer of the Sheraton Hotel on the evening of the show.

All proceeds from the evening go to the South Westmeath Hospice
