Discover Science and Engineering (DSE ) has put out the last call to Westmeath schools to flag their intention to participate in this year’s Awards of Science & Maths Excellence. Last year, 13 Westmeath primary schools won an award and it is hoped that this figure will increase in 2010. The deadline for applications is this Friday March 26.
Part of the Discover Primary Science (DPS ) programme, the awards acknowledge the efforts of primary school children and teachers across Ireland who have shown an increased knowledge of science and maths.
The 13 Westmeath schools that received Awards of Science Excellence are Emper NS, St Peter’s NS, Convent Primary School Rochfortbridge, Rosemount NS, The Downs NS, Boher NS, Scoil Bhríde, St Ciaran’s NS, Presentation Senior School, St Tola’s, St Crenins NS, St Mary’s NS, Convent Primary School, and St Oliver Plunkett Boys NS.
Registered schools, who have submitted their intention to apply on the website by March 26, will receive an application form in the mail, close to the submission date.
