As the good weather continued all week there was an excellent entry for the Patricia Nugent sponsored 18-hole Stableford Competition held on September 25/28. The results were: 1. Patricia Buckley (16 ) 35 pts; 2. Breda Fitzpatrick (29 ) 35 pts; 3. Thérèse Browne (19 ) 34 pts.
Last Saturday September 27, the members of 'The Monday Club' travelled to Castle Barna GC where all enjoyed a great outing. Five hours on the course was a bit long but otherwise everything went very well. The results on the day were aggregated with the results from the months of the competitions held weekly in Mount Temple since last April.
Results: overall winner: Marian Allen (34 ); leading qualifier: Ita McGuire (27 ); winner in Castle Barna: Patricia Nugent (20 ).
The meal afterwards was delicious and the prizes were then presented. Thanks to the committee for all the hard work.
Upcoming events: Next competition is on October 2/5. This is the O2 Challenge Cup and is an 18 stroke competition.
