This Saturday March 6 from 11am to 1.30pm a free acting workshopwill take place at the Passionfruit Theatre, Athlone.
In conjunction with Passionfruits latest production The Hooded Well, this week’s workshop is centred around creating a character using Checkhov Techniques and is facilitated by Dublin born actor and musician, Gavin Lennon.
Michael Checkhov (1891-1955 ) was an Academy Award-nominated Russian-American actor, director, author, and theatre practitioner.
His acting technique has been used by actors such as Clint Eastwood, Marilyn Monroe, Yul Brynner, and Robert Stack. Constantin Stanislavski referred to him as his most brilliant student, and he is widely regarded to be one of the greatest actors of the 20th century.
Johnny Depp, Jack Nicholson, and Clint Eastwood credit Checkhov’s techniques for their successful acting careers.
This workshop is a fantastic opportunity, offering insights into techniques used by many of the world’s greatest actors.
There are a limited number of places for 15 to 18 year olds looking to attend the workshop.
