The Society of St Vincent de Paul Flood Relief Committee would like to thank all those who have generously donated to date and who are continuing to donate for the victims of the flooding in the Athlone area. The fund presently stands at €150,000.
As providing support in a crisis such as this is outside the normal remit of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, other agencies have been invited on board to form a committee to oversee the dispersal of the funds received.
This committee is meeting regularly to access the needs of people who have applied and have yet to apply.
All funds will be distributed in a speedy and equitable manner.
When all funds have been distributed the accounts will be professionally audited.
Where possible or where requested all donations will be acknowledged.
