Work on a pedestrian crossing in Kiltoom is expected to be completed in the coming weeks, the NRA has confirmed to Deputy Denis Naughten.
“I understand that the contractor had intended to have work completed on the crossing at Hodson Bay on the N61 by this stage; however, work was delayed as a result of emergency repairs arising. It is now hoped that work on the crossing will be completed in the next few weeks,” said Deputy Naughten.
“This crossing, on the Athlone side of Hodson Bay Stores, is urgently needed and will significantly improve road safety at this location. However, this work again highlights the need for the completion of a small section of footpath between Hodson Bay Stores and the section of old road leading to Ballybay church, which would connect local facilities and serve as a valuable amenity for the local community.”
