A total of 39 submissions on the draft local area plan for the Monksland/Bealnamullia area have been received by Roscommon County Council, Cllr John Naughten has confirmed.
“The county manager’s report on the submissions is expected at the end of December. A number of issues have been raised including public footpaths, lighting, and infrastructure and recreational facilities; many of these issues have already been raised with me by residents and they are issues that I would like to see addressed within the plan,” said Cllr Naughten.
“As a member of the Planning SPC, a plan for this area is something that I, along with local residents, have been seeking for some time. This plan will provide a detailed outline of how the area will develop over the next five years, not just residentially but also in relation to recreational facilities and amenities.”
