Athlone Community Radio hosted a monster table quiz last Friday night December 4 at the Prince of Wales Hotel in aid of the Athlone Flood Relief Fund.
A big thank you must go out to everyone who supported the event on the night, in particular the Prince of Wales who offered the space for free, provided tea and coffee, and also offered great spot prizes for the evening’s entertainment.
Super prizes were supplied by KCI Manufacturing, Athlone Towncentre, Athlone Springs Hotel, Loaves and Fishes Restaurant, Tesco Baylough, Callanan’s Butchers, Martina Fallon, Noel Breslin and Amy Quirke. The Christ Apostolic Church also gave a donation to lodge to the Athlone Flood Relief Fund.
A big thank you must go to quizmasters for the evening, Tommy Greene, Seamus Greene and Billy Dempsey and their young helpers!
Some 120 people took part in the quiz and through the generosity of the people of Athlone €1,623.26 was raised on the evening. This amount has been lodged to the Flood Relief Fund in Athlone Credit Union.
