25 jobs for Lynn Road fun centre

Twenty-five jobs will be created in early December when Rock ‘n’ Bowl and Jungle Joes, Mullingar’s first-ever bowling and family entertainment centre will open for business.

The new 2,300 sq m purpose-built facility is behind the O’Brien family’s Renault and Mazda showroom on the Lynn Road.

This unique development will consist of a 10-lane bowling alley, a children’s multi-functional, soft play area, a kiddies’ mini-electric, go-kart track, a cafe diner and a number of American pool tables over two floors.

There will also be four interchangeable rooms for private party hire, a mini soccer area for the under eights and over 100 free car parking spaces.

The family entertainment will be run and owned by the O’Brien family and has been two years in development and four months under construction by the local developer Ollie Kenny Ltd.

“We want to provide a new, fun venue for the whole family, whether they want to bowl or clamber or sit with a milkshake,” said JP O’Brien.

“If they want a break, parents can come down on Sunday morning and read the papers while the kids climb or bowl and midweek, they can come and socialise while their children can play to their hearts’ content in a safe environment,” he said.

The 10-lane alley will feature all the latest bowling technology and has had its maple lanes especially imported from the US. It is planned to start leagues in the new year.

Rock ‘n’ Bowl will be open from 10am until 11pm seven days a week.
