A man who made his name as an entertainer on RTE’s You’re a Star in 2003, was ironically fined a total of €200 in the District Court this week (November 11 ) for not having a TV licence.
The court heard how An Post’s inspector called to the house of singer-songwriter Colin Fahy (32 ), at River Village Monksland, Athlone on November 26 last year and no licence was presented.
“Basically I forgot,” said Fahy.
“When I went to get it, it was too late.”
Judge John Neilan fined Fahy €150 and an additional €50 costs, with two months to pay.
