Moate Business College teachers Bernie Murtagh and Aileen Martin take flight on November 6 to participate in the Niall Mellon Township Trust Building Blitz.
The charity’s eighth building blitz will take place in Wallacedene, South Africa, which has a population of 68,000 and is one of the poorest townships in Cape Town.
Over the last year, both teachers, with the aid of the staff and students of Moate Business College, successfully raised €10,000 for the charity through a series of events such as parachute jumps, sponsored walks, bag packing, raffles, bring and buy sales, and soccer tournaments.
Bernie and Aileen are delighted to get this opportunity to hopefully make a difference to the lives of residents of the townships.
