Alexander the skeleton to stop off in Athlone

This October, Irish Alexander teachers will take a friendly and adventurous skeleton around Ireland in eight days by any means possible.

To mark International Alexander Technique Week from October 9 to18, Alexander the skeleton will travel the provinces by foot, bike, tractor, car, horse, train, currach, and ferry, sharing information on how you can protect and enhance your body’s health and performance.

Alexander will be stopping off in Athlone for an introductory talk on the Alexander Technique on Wednesday October 14. Members of the public are invited to come along and learn three tips during their lunch hour on how to improve posture.

Alexander Technique helps the human body to work by aiding recovery from pain, enhancing performance, improving posture, and helping people to find their potential.

In these free workshops around the country, different aspects of the Alexander Technique will be explored to highlight the many different cases it can help and the potential it has for better living.

Come along to the free event in Athlone Library from 1-2pm on October 14, bring an everyday object like a toothbrush or a trowel, and explore the Alexander Technique. Contact Martina Maloney at (044 ) 9221963.
