Musician, songwriter, company director, and project executive Linda Welby has just landed her dream job, presenting her very own hour-long weekly Irish Country Music Programme from NBRN Radio in Nashville, Tennessee. The programme will be aired from Nashville every Tuesday evening at 6pm (local time ) and can be heard on the internet in Ireland at 12am on www.nbrn.fm
A native of Loughrea, Linda, a young mother of eight children, now resides in Roscahill, Co Galway. Her recent album A Story to Tell is a collection of contemporary songs and music all written, composed and performed by herself.
As a composer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and singer, music has always been at the forefront for Linda.
Linda Welby has had a meteoric rise to fame since the release of her first solo album just less than one year ago. Highlights include a string of very successful concerts throughout the country, many of them in partnership with Brendan Bowyer who is her favourite artist from the showband era, radio, and television appearances both here and abroad culminating in a very successful trip to the USA recently, an invitation to appear at the Country Music Awards in Texas next June and most recently the opportunity to become the first Irish presenter on Nashville radio presenting her own Irish Cream of Country every Tuesday evening.
