Calling all secondary school students: do you have an innovative business idea? If so, Westmeath County Enterprise Board wants to hear from you.
Westmeath County Enterprise Board is awarding cash prizes to secondary school students with a good business idea, as part of its recently launched Dragons Den Competition.
Secondary school students are invited to create a business idea, which can be a product or service, and local ‘Dragons’ from the business community will judge the competition.
The focus of this competition will be on students coming up with new business ideas or improvements to existing business ideas. Students are encouraged to be imaginative with their ideas, and there will be cash prizes for the winners with the best ideas. Prizes will be awarded in junior, intermediate, and senior categories.
The Dragons Den competition is part of the Westmeath Student Enterprise Awards Programme, aimed at all secondary school students within Westmeath, which offers a fun and informative introduction to the world of enterprise, stimulating students to think about business. To take part in the Dragons Den Competition, students should complete the application form with details of their business idea. What is novel about this competition is that no business plan is required to enter.
Students can download the short application form from the Westmeath County Enterprise Board website at www.westmeath-enterprise.ie Application forms are also available in secondary schools.
