Skincare expert La Roche-Posay is supporting the Irish Eczema Society and Eczema Awareness Week from September 13-19, with a Dry Skin Eczema Awareness Campaign in pharmacies nationwide for September and October.
Atopic dermatitis or eczema is a chronic allergic and inflammatory skin disorder, affecting 50 million people in Europe. Up to 20 per cent of children suffer from the condition, which is currently three times more frequent than it was 30 years ago.
To help tackleeczema, La Roche-Posay has announced the launch of New Lipikar Baume AP in pharmacies nationwide from October. New Lipikar Baume AP is the first lipid-replenishing care which offers a 24 hour anti-scratching, quick-dress texture. This is crucial to break the vicious cycle of eczem to ensure compliance, a vital concern for dermatologists.
La Roche-Posay has a complete range of products to address all types of dry skin and symptoms of dry skin suitable for both adults and children.
The Irish Eczema Society is running an eczema awareness open day in the Camden Court Hotel, Camden St, Dublin 2, on Sunday September 13 from 12-4pm, supported by La Roche-Posay.
The open day is an informative, educational open day for those who suffer from eczema or have children who suffer from eczema and need useful tips and advice. Dermatology specialist Dr Anne-Marie Tobin will speak specifically about what eczema is, the care that is needed, and new treatments and procedures, followed by Q&A. Also on the day, nurses will focus on general eczema care in medical workshops.
