Exciting times are ahead for Athlone Film Club, which launched its new website in the Sheraton Hotel, Athlone last Wednesday August 19 .
The website, which was researched and designed by local web designer Ian Munt from www.uonline.ie, goes live this week and can be accessed at www.athlonefilmclub.com
The website will contain details of the club’s seasonal films and news and events. There will also be an opportunity to engage in film selection and reviews.
In its first year, the club successfully established itself as a vital part of Athlone’s social scene with a strong membership base. Club chairperson Alan Shaw is confident that the new website will further promote the club and consolidate the existing membership base. He pointed out that there is a feature on the site to download membership forms for the upcoming autumn season which commences on Tuesday, September 15 with the Irish produced film Kisses. There is also a feature on the site to join the club’s mailing list.
The club has ventured even further into the worldwide web with its facebook page, which offers another opportunity for members to engage in the running of the club.
