Petworld is holding a multi-branch charity event this Saturday, August 22 in aid of Crumlin Hospital for Sick Children in Dublin.
Each of the branches, Athlone, Galway, and Castlebar will be holding a day of fun and activities on Saturday August 22 from 12pm. They are hoping to raise lots of money for this worthy cause.
“Most of the ideas for raising money have come from members of the Petworld team,” said Stuart Cooper, operations manager for Petworld. “A number of our own team members have children who have benefited hugely from Crumlin Hospital and as we all know from news reports, they are always in need of funds. We just want to contribute.
“We would like to encourage people to come down to their local Petworld on the day, donate what they can afford and have a great time while they’re doing it. You can come and watch a person being groomed or pay to see someone eat a cricket in Athlone, get your photo taken with a python or rabbit in Galway or have your face painted and win spot prizes in Castlebar and lots more besides.”
Inspired by hamsters running continuously on wheels, the Petworld team will run on a treadmill throughout the day.
Look out for balloon sellers around the town. Each balloon is €2 and all processed go towards the charity.
