SuperKidd Promotions will hold their annual end of summer gig tomorrow, Saturday August 15. This year's line up may be the biggest all ages event Mullingar has ever seen. Featuring returning favourites and brand new acts it is assured to be a date that will live in infamy, only less war like and with more lollipops.
Returning to The Stables stage after an extended absence are SuperKidd favourites Mr Lightweight. Performing now as a three piece act they have used their time away from the limelight to write and record brand new material and grab themselves sponsorship deals with two intenational clothing companies. Immensley popular with the Mullingar crowd they have cemented themselves as one of Ireland's fastest rising acts with their high energy pop-punk style of music.
Featuring ex-members of Mr Lightweight and Steer Cleer, Jody Has A Hitlist are the breakout band of 2009. Never before has an Irish band seen such a meteoric rise in popularity, confirmed by the fact their first ever gig was supporting chart toppers Metro Station. Since then they have performed to sold out crowds across Dublin and August sees them hitting the road for their first Irish tour which culminates on August 15 in The Stables where no doubt they will endear themselves to the people of Mullingar.
Colour System Failure are regular visitors to The Stables and with good reason. The Dublin five piece are the standout hardcore metal act currently performing in Ireland. After releasing their debut album last October this summer sees them return to action after a brief hiatus while they worked on new material. Athlone's new kids on the block Twisted Logic, fresh from the studio are sure to win new fans upon their maiden Mullingar gig. Their brand of indie rock has seen them likened to the Foo Fighters.
Completing the bill are local favourites Mean Keith (Paulie Martin and Keith McLoughlin ) who are no strangers to The Stables after many performances there with Decipher. Mean Keith is their acoustic side project.
