Gardai are seeking the public’s assistance in their investigation into a break-in at Ballymore post office which occurred last Friday (July 31 ).
During the early hours of Friday morning, one or more persons forced the door of the shop/post office to gain entry.
A small amount of cash and cigarettes were taken. It is thought the perpetrator(s ) disconnected the CCTV system on entry.
Gardai are appealing to members of the public who either noticed any activity in the area on the night, or who noticed anything unusual in the preceding days or weeks, to contact Athlone Gardai.
In a separate incident, a house in the Monksland area of Athlone was broken into in the early hours of Sunday morning (August 2 ).
The culprits stole the keys to a grey Opel hatchback car and proceeded to steal the car. The car’s registration number is 09-WH-484.
